Safety Policy

  1. It is SEMESCO’s CO. Ltd policy to ensure that every reasonable measure is adopted, so that the following objectives are achieved during the execution of its activities:

    1. Prevention of damage to property.
    2. Prevent injury to personnel.
    3. Protect individuals from possible hazards.
  2. Our aim is to provide safe and healthy working conditions and to ensure that adequate training and induction is given to our personnel, for the safe and efficient performance of the various tasks undertaken by our company.

  3. It is the responsibility of our Safety Officer to ensure that the contents of this policy are carried out and a constant awareness with regard to health and safety at work is maintained.

  4. A safety committee consisted of managerial and working staff has the duty for monitoring the safety performance and recommending actions towards improvement, when necessary.

  5. SEMESCO’s CO. Ltd personnel are required to co-operate for the implementation of this policy, to use the provided safety equipment properly and to ensure that they act with all reasonable care with regards to the Health and Safety for themselves, their colleagues and any other persons who might happen to be in the working area.

  6. It is considered that all personnel employed by SEMESCO CO. Ltd have the obligation as far as is reasonably practical to:

    1. Report any incident which has led, or could have led to damage or injury.
    2. Assist in any investigation with regards to accidents.
    3. Comply with the safety procedures.
    4. Report to the Site Engineer or Safety Officer any task or substance that is considered as dangerous or hazardous.
  7. Since SEMESCO CO. Ltd is involved in a broad range of specialist engineering services, its activities should also comply with the requirements of the following safety regulations and procedures:

    • The safety requirements of the Local Health and Safety at Work regulations.
    • The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 - U.K.
    • The control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) U.K.
    • The Potentially Hazardous Areas Regulations for Petroleum Oil and Lubricants.
    • The Potentially Hazardous Areas Regulations for Electrical Installations.
    • Military Electrical Regulations for Ammunition storage (Leaflet 7 / ESTC 220).
    • The Confined Spaces Regulations.
    • The Diving Regulations.
    • Pollution Control (MARPOL 73/78 Manual).
    • Masts and Towers Maintenance and Safety (WPC 53A, November 1987).
    • L.P.G. Safety Regulations and Procedures.
    • The Montreal Protocol (Requirements of technical Bulletin 96/**).
  8. The in charge engineer is responsible to keep records and to inspect the safety equipment as required by the above regulations
