Environmental Policy
The management of Semesco Co. Ltd acknowledge that our day-to-day operations may inevitably impact the environment in a number of ways and seek to maximise opportunities for the provision of services and solutions, which can help to reduce environmental impacts and which may provide significant environmental benefits.
It is our policy to ensure that every reasonable step is taken that our activities meet and where possible, exceed the current environmental legislation, on environmental matters. Following the above we are committed to minimise the potentially harmful effects of our activities wherever and whenever possible.
This policy statement provides a commitment to continuous improvement, prevention of pollution and compliance with relevant environmental legislation and regulations.
In particular Semesco Co. Ltd is commited to:
- Meet statutory requirements through co-operation with the appropriate authorities and technical organisations in the formation of standards and the means of compliance.
- Regulating and improving our processes to cause the least practicable impact on environment and invest, where appropriate, ahead of legislative requirements.
- Conducting environmental audits of our operations to ensure that Waste and Pollution is minimised on a regular basis.
- Working in partnership with external suppliers to facilitate and promote increased environmental awareness and understanding.
- Ensuring that the process of continual environmental improvement does not compromise the health, safety and welfare of its employees.
- Attend seminars on environmental protection and organise in-house seminars to promote environmental protection to our employees and supply chain members.
- Ensuring all our employees have appropriate training, so that they can competently meet their responsibilities, thereby contributing towards safeguarding the environment.
- Carrying out environmental studies targeting to the prevention of negative import to the environment, prior of undertaking projects of certain nature.
- Reduce wherever practicable the level of harmful emissions.
- Include environmental issues in discussions with the employees’ trade unions.
- Not to use any Ozone depleting substances, to offer clients alternatives to their use, wherever possible, and impose this policy on all our employees and supply chain members in assisting the phasing out from industry of all Ozone depleting substances, in support of the Montreal Protocol.
